Unlike many builders in Sydney, by choice, we are involved in only a few projects at any one time. Our founder, Darren Barnes, has proven that true quality comes from allowing his hand-picked team the time necessary to execute with excellence on only the work their team has committed to.
Winchester operates with 2 licensed builders with carpentry backgrounds, managing no more that 5 projects at once. This gives us the best supervision ration per house than any other competitors we are aware of.
In turn, this allows us to focus on quality at a competitive rate through low overheads and increased supervision and communication with our trades and clients. Further, all of our custom builds come from personal recommendations.

Our Approach
Understanding you
At Winchester, one of the most important stages in the process is our first: understanding your vision. We are here to serve you and make your dream home a reality, so we start with listening. Step by step, we then guide you through the process to understand all the decision you will need to make, from tiles to carpet to appliances and more.
In addition we provide a complimentary design service to enable you to check off the major design decision for your new home.
Over a few conversations, we will discuss your goals, your dreams, your timelines, and your budget so we have a holistic picture of who you are. Throughout your build, we will then tap into this understanding to create the right recommendations at key decision points during the build.
Design and Finalise
Stage two is finalising the planning process. This incorporates everything from discussing how budget affects plans, to the range of finishes you want. We will introduce you to our various specialists to ensure you have the support you need in every aspect. We then work together with you and your architect to get structural drawings, submit paperwork to council and even help arrange demolition of an existing property all as needed.
At this stage we will also provide you with a timeline of key milestones of the construction process.
Construction Begins
With formalities all finalised, we get stuck into the construction process. This is when you watch the house take shape. Once building commences, we have a value for keeping our clients engaged with the journey and the progress. This looks like updating you at key phases of the project, as well as providing context for any decisions that arise in the build.
Our goal is to craft your custom-built home smoothly & as efficiently as possible, without compromising on quality.
Handover
This is the moment you have been waiting for!
Your new home is nearly ready for handover. Just before we give you your keys, we will do a handover-inspection for you, allowing you to point out any areas where you might like minor adjustments made. Then with these corrections made, we will have your house meticulously cleaned ready for you to move into.
